Recording Session 1
November 25, 1999
This is the first one of the few recording
sessions we will have to bring together
as an EP in the near future. We had this
session free of charge thanks to Pablo,
our Chilean friend. After some time, we all
decided to record around three to four of our
demo songs in proper track-by-track quality.
Pablo is an Audio Engineering Student, and
we were his final project. :) So that was
lucky for us. Anyways, we agreed it would
be an overnight session, starting at midnight
and ending around ten in the morning. It was
an amazing experience. Pablo's studio work
was great and the mood was positive most of
the night. Nevertheless, we were expecting
some songs to be very difficult to record
track by track since they are mostly live
songs, that is, songs guided by the gig
chemistry..and alas, we cant have that in
a recording studio! So it happened that
Size does matter had us frustrated for the
first hours of the night, when we had to
re-record the drums track until we could
find a fixed length for the song..and well,
we had to give up and go for the next song.
Ha! Anyways, we took a short break and came
back with more energies to record Nothing,
which still gave a few problems, but the
hardest part of adaptation was over by then,
making it easier to record all of it. After
Nothing's Lymius Delta's (the computer)
track was recorded, we took another break
to ease down the accumulated stress, and
we came back with renewed spirit (it was
already near sunrise!) and energies to
finish off Uneasy (it was great! almost
every track in one take!) and on to
Hunger to Rule. We had an excellent time
for those nearly ten hours. At ten we
picked all the instruments up and headed
back home, hoping to get some rest.
Unluckily we didn't, since Pablo fell
asleep while driving and crashed his
car and we ended up in the police station
until afternoon. HA! When we came back
we slept for two days. Well, nearly.
